Ms. Mondescu has 16 years of extensive litigation and appellate experience in a wide range of complex commercial and business matters, including products and premises liability, civil rights violations, breach of contract, wage and hour litigation, insurance and real property disputes, and landlord-tenant litigation.
Ms. Mondescu has achieved dismissals and summary judgments, favorable settlements in mediation, as well as numerous appellate victories for a diverse group of clients. In her landlord-tenant and premises liability practice, in addition to representing clients who have received notices of violation, or are involved in litigation, Ms. Mondescu advises small and large entities on minimizing the risk and employing best practices to ensure compliance with the law. Ms. Mondescu’s clients have included Fortune 500 corporations, insurance carriers, wineries, breweries, restaurants, retail establishments, and small emerging companies.
Before joining Leone & Alberts, Ms. Mondescu was an associate and special counsel at Drinker Biddle & Reath and Archer Norris, where she defended a diverse group of clients in matters involving pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices, premises liability, employment, as well as real property and contract disputes.
Ms. Mondescu was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, and immigrated to the United States in 1990. Ms. Mondescu attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, graduating magna cum laude in Philosophy. At U.N.L.V., Ms. Mondescu made the Dean’s List for four consecutive years and was a member of the Golden Key National Honors Society, receiving numerous awards and honors, including the Outstanding Graduating Senior in the College of Liberal Arts, the Award for Excellence in Philosophy, the Outstanding Student Award and the Vista Group Award. In June 1997, Ms. Mondescu was profiled in People Magazine as an Outstanding Graduate of America’s Class of 1997.
In 2000, Ms. Mondescu received her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law. During law school, Ms. Mondescu was a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society and received the AmJur Award in Constitutional Law and the Best Brief Award in Moot Court.
Between 2004 and 2008, Ms. Mondescu was part of the Adjunct Faculty at the University of San Francisco, where she taught Legal Analysis. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Legal Studies Program at John F. Kennedy University.
Ms. Mondescu is admitted to practice before federal and state courts in California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
