Mr. Gotch has participated in half a dozen jury trials (in one instance obtaining a six minute defense jury verdict), several court trials, arbitrations, mediations, and writs and appeals in State courts throughout California. He has also successfully handled cases in the California Federal courts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. These cases have involved personal injury (including catastrophic injuries, suicide and wrongful death), product liability, commercial contracts, construction defects, civil rights, free speech, employment, ADA access, suspected child abuse and other public entity matters.

Prior to joining Leone & Alberts in 2005, Mr. Gotch had been a partner at Knox Ricksen LLP in Oakland, CA since 1997, where he focused on personal injury litigation, insurance bad faith cases and suspected insurance fraud matters.

In addition to being an avid San Francisco Giants and Nebraska football fan, Mr. Gotch has coached girls’ softball, both recreational and summer leagues, for more than a decade in Oakland and Piedmont. Since 2011 he has also rowed for a master’s crew team in Oakland where he has had the pleasure of rowing at the San Diego Crew Classic and the Head of the Charles in Boston, along with several other local regattas. Mr. Gotch is the father of two beautiful daughters and resides in Piedmont CA, where he is an active member of the local community and past president of the Wildwood Dad’s Club.
