Amber Smith has been practicing law managing public entity, personal injury, eminent domain, professional liability, and employment litigation in both federal and state courts for more than ten years.
Prior to joining Leone Alberts & Duus, Ms. Smith worked representing public entities in the San Joaquin Valley on employment, personal injury, and contact matters. She has experience representing both public entities and property owners in eminent domain actions. Ms. Smith has also worked as a plaintiff’s attorney representing students and their families in special education matters under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act giving her a unique perspective in her current representation of school districts.
Ms. Smith, a Bay Area native, attended University of California at Davis, School of Law, where she was a member and editor of the UC Davis Law Review, Business Law Journal, and Journal of International Law and Policy. She also received awards in Moot Court for Best Brief and Finalist. Ms. Smith currently volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Contra Costa County.
